Hire a car for your driving test

Hire our dual-control car for your driving test — no account needed until you're ready to pay.

Before you start

Test car hire is separate from lessons — it covers the car only, not an instructor or lesson time.
Browsing offers is open to everyone. You only need your name, mobile and email to book.

Go to the Test car hire page.
Browse the offers — each card shows the test centre, the car, and the price. Select a card to open its own page.
On the offer's page, check the list of what's included, the car and price, and when online bookings close.
In Book your car hire, choose your Meeting point.
Pick your Driving test date — this must meet your school's minimum notice period, shown under the field.
Pick your Driving test start time from the list of times available on that date.
Enter your First name, Last name, Mobile and Email.
Optionally add Notes.
Tick I agree to the terms and conditions (select the link first to read them if you like).
Enter your card details under Card details and select Continue to Payment.

The total shown includes a service charge where one applies — this isn't charged if a school admin books for you and records the payment as cash or bank transfer instead.
Your driving test must be at the test centre named on the offer; the meeting point is just where you'll meet the car.
This offer is car hire only — no driving lesson is included.

Once your payment goes through, you're taken to your booking page and emailed your confirmation.
If the payment provider hasn't confirmed yet, the page shows Confirming your payment… and checks again automatically.

"Bookings open …" — this offer isn't taking bookings yet; come back after the date shown.
"Online bookings for this offer have closed." — this offer no longer accepts online bookings; use Contact us on the Test car hire page.
"No times available for this date" — pick another date.
"Please choose a meeting point." / "Please choose a valid test date." / "Please choose a test time." — that field is missing or invalid.
"You must accept the terms and conditions." — tick the agreement checkbox before paying.
If your card is declined, the error from your bank is shown under the card field — check your details and try again.
